Internet.org – The Next Big Thing?

Internet is no longer a luxury now. It has become one of the basic necessities of our lives. With 2.7 billion people using the Internet, there are still five billion of us out there who don’t have access to the world wide web. Mark Zuckerberg, CEO and co-founder of Facebook, along with half dozen of the world’s technology giants including Samsung, Nokia, Qualcomm and Ericsson have agreed to work with Facebook as partners on the initiative they’re calling Internet.org.

Facebook Testing Trending Topics on Mobile Site

Facebook is reportedly testing a trending topics widget on its mobile site. Facebook trends would work exactly like Twitter trends, allowing you to view trends that are being discussed on Facebook across the globe. These trends would be displayed in a widget just beside News Feeds on Facebook home page listing trending topics on Facebook. When you click on anyone of those topics, it’d show you what your friends have shared (statuses, pictures, videos, links, etc.) on the topic and then what everyone else has shared on it.

So a few days ago, Facebook (NASDAQ: FB) announced to launch a revolutionary product Facebook Home for Android users across the globe. Facebook Home, as the name suggests, makes Facebook the center of your device. Using Facebook Home, you can stay in touch with your Facebook friends 24/7. It is an app for people, not for phones.

New Twitter

On December 9 (most probably), Twitter surprised its users by a whole new design when they logged on to twitter.com from their browsers. I, too, was amazed to see new design and features of the website. This new design implementation is in testing phase, I believe. Many of my followers mentioned, with somewhat of a disappointment, that their Twitter design hasn’t been updated yet. So, I thought why don’t I write a something on new Twitter design? And here I am! It’s not just the interior that has been redesigned.
